Basement @ Knockdown Center NY
BASEMENT NY launched in May 2019 underneath the main hall of Knockdown Center. The newly designed and literally underground room is New York City’s new home for top and up-and-coming techno talent from all over the world.
Keeping with a European club tradition, BASEMENT features a state-of-the-art Funktion-One sound system and a custom lighting rig throughout the venue. All events are 21+, and attendees will be required to adhere to a set of house rules, including no photo/video, and a safer space policy.
Basement is characterized by a big dancefloor, old factory doors, and dense brick and concrete columns whose rough edges have been purposefully left untouched. The striking entrance (a long gray tunnel), the low ceilings, the flickering lights, and the fog machines are just a few of the details that, when combined with the massive arches and narrow hallways, add to the whole dark, dramatic and mysterious atmosphere of the space. On top of that, the powerful Funktion One sound system grows louder depending on where you stand.
